Construction Managers are also known as Site Engineers or Construction Engineers. They have hands on experience about the construction and other related matters related to the jobsite. Construction Engineers are expected to check building materials to ensure the project can last for years, they are also expected to know about the design fundamentals, construction project management, and construction planning.

On the other hand, Civil Engineers are expected to know the fundamentals of load-bearing structures, statistical analysis, and construction techniques. They must have in depth knowledge about all the national and sometimes even international building codes. For Bangladesh, a Civil Engineer must know about the BNBC Codes, RAJUK Rules, among others.

Construction sites have a lot of health hazards and everyone present at the site must ear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs). According to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the main PPE categories are as follows:

  1. Eye and Face Protection
  2. Foot Protection
  3. Hand Protection
  4. Head Protection
  5. Hearing Protection

The Bangladesh National Building Codes (BNBC) are followed to make the buildings safe from natural disasters like earthquakes, storms etc. Chapter 2 of BNBC Part 6 is specific regarding this matter where the dead load, live load, wind, and earthquake loads, miscellaneous loads and their various combinations are being discussed.

Earthquake Resistant Building Designs are discussed in Chapter 2.5.2 of BNBC Part 6.
